Saringe Kulturverkstad is located in the beautiful countryside of
Roslagen, about 100 km
north of Stockholm, Sweden.
Lisa Byers Runberg has made a living by making wooden horns since 2002,
after working for two
years under the tutelage of Rune Selén.
Rune is the most experienced maker of wooden horns in Scandinavia, but he
is now retiring
after more than 40 years in business.
Now Lisa and her husband
Per Runberg make several different traditional
musical instruments.
All instruments are hand made in the traditional way and, when possible,
in the original
materials.
To the modern ear, some of the instruments can sound a bit strange, since
even the scales
follow traditional ideals.
It is, however, possible to order the instruments to one's own liking as
far as the
material permits.
Our customers are of all kinds, both professional and hobby musicians,
souvenir hunters,
museums, universities and many more.
Visitors are welcome, but mostly we ship the instruments.
